Advancing the Future in Fluid Power

In 2018, the Advanced Manufacturing Sector Board members had over 1,100 middle and high school students participate in the Advancing the Future Manufacturing Tours. With another tour scheduled for October 14-18, a successful tour with large numbers of participants is once again likely.

Technological advances and robotics in the manufacturing industry have transformed how we work, and this creates a demand for more skilled workers. Today’s manufacturers offer high skilled positions with lots of future potential.

On October 15th, IFP/EHA lead separate tours of our facilities for Mount Vernon and Linn-Mar school district students interested in career possibilities in the Motion Control Industry. Director of Engineering, Brian Tritle led both tours. Twenty manufacturers throughout the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor are leading similar tours during this week long event. The public was also welcome to tour the manufacturers that operate and provide many jobs in their cities..
